I think this is probably the 2nd best draft after 2003. I think to call this one better at this stage is recency bias but it’s definitely established itself as a strong class and may be better eventually (goalies certainly have a ways to go, and I don’t think the D stacks up either). 2003 class has just accomplished so much to be passed by a draft that’s only 5 years old. Some of those guys have certainly fallen off now that they’re 35 but there were dozens of guys who were elite players in their prime, and dozens more who were effective support players for a long time, not to mention countless cups. Still waiting on any of these guys to backbone a dynasty
