Description
I assumed this roster, thinking that the cap will rise a little bit and all the younger guys will take bridge deals, or sign their first deals after coming off their ELC's. Danault, Tatar, Armia are gone.

Why would Seattle take Allen when they could take Juulsen or Fleury?

People who are writing off Poehling are insanely stupid. IMO he'll crack the line up as a regular by the end of the year. He's a CJ type player. give the kid time. idk why habs fans quit on their young players so quicly.

seattle will go for a cheap goaltending duo. Holtby/Allen is under 7 mill and makes too much sense for them. there are better dmen who are available that will be exposed.

I don’t see Seattle picking pending UFAs honestly. I don’t think they are gonna be as good as Vegas to persuade the UFAs to stay.

That’s right! Sorry I thought his extension came in this year so he would only have one year.

dude. $3.3 million? that's a lot man he would have to prove close worth to KK. Poehling has definitely not proved he could land that contract and would have a lot to do to prove it.

Evans is the clear center prospect that CJ and Bergy like. Poehling kind of hasn't done anything. MTL fans got fired up after the last Bob Cole game but he doesn't even play like that, he isn't a scorer - he is another two-way center who, if you watched the last two seasons, he has taken a CLEAR step back in his development.

Don't get me wrong, I and all Habs fans would love if he turns out but he hasn't proved anything even in the AHL.

Holtby is probably the starter, and they can complement that with any of Khudobin, Hill, Kivlinieks, Quick/Petersen, Talbot/Kahkonen, Ingram, etc. all of whom are either better or cheaper than Allen, or younger with upside which will be important for their franchise long term. I don’t know why they’d take a 31yo backup over a 23 or 24yo D with top 4 upside when they will have a solid starter and plenty of decent, young backup options.

Then they can take their pick of platoon goalies like Khudobin or Talbot or Crawford, where better options might not exist, or they could just sign a backup. Even Eric Engels thinks Seattle takes one of Juulsen or Fleury, it doesn’t make sense to pass on young talent like that for a backup

all of them are older and arent better than allen. also allen's contract is really good. teams aren't looking for backups now, they're going for a 1A, 1B situation. Allen/Holtby fit the bill. and like I said, there are multiple young dmen better than juulsen/fluery that will be available. also i can see bergevin striking a deal with seattle. gms did that last time with vegas, but most of them got robbed.

He wasn't writing off Poehling but Unless he forces his way on the roster and plays the full season and the season is 60 games he still would not have played 82 games so he shouldn't be getting 3mil+, he'll end up with a contract similar to Mete or at the most insane he'll get a contract like Weal's

Sure Allen fits the bill, but why not take Crawford when he's probably gonna play at a similar level as a 1B, and New Jersey is going to be protect everyone worth taking? There's really not much there at all on NJD's unprotected list so it doesn't make sense to take Allen+a nobody when you could have Juulsen/Fleury+Crawford.
