I think the sabers are good, but they aren't going to knock out any atlantic division team. If its a Canadian division, than im assuming that buffalo is in the same division as the isles, panthers, rangers, canes etc. they may land a wild card spot. also, raanta was a stud for yotes. he'll cost you more. imo the yotes won't even trade him.

the yotes are in absolute cap hell (the worst cap hell in the league)...they already have a stud in darcy they can manage without raanta. trading raanta would be the best cap relief option for them imo.

Honestly, I don't even think you need to send a 2nd rounder, you could offer less, and the Yotes would accept. Few teams can absorb Raanta's deal, and have a need in net. 4th rounder, would be enough. Look no further than Nate Schmidt trade. Cap flexibility is everything.
Yotes have their backup, on a 1 way deal in Adin Hill. Either Kuemper or Raanta goes away.
It doesn't look like any team will be offering much for Kuemper, when the Yotes are asking for a 1st rounder+
Raanta is more or less, a salary dump, even in a compressed schedule.

Agree with all of this. It just comes down to the Sabres making the necessary space to get Raanta.
