If they want to get rid of of Johnson and not Gourde or Killorn or Palat, they are probably gonna have to retain something and give a sweetener. 5M/yr for 3 years on a 30 year old 3rd line isn’t something a team is gonna be willing to do this year. Well first of all Tyler Johnson is a top 6 player on 90% of the teams in the league, he split his time between 2nd and 3rd line on a stacked Tampa team. We won't be retaining on Johnson and that's that. We will much sooner move Palat or Gourde than retain on Johnson

I don’t think it’s your decision buddy..lol. I think you are gonna have too. Like I said, no one took Johnson for free. So no, no one wants him as a 2nd line 5M player either. For nothing, for free. I don’t think they want to move Gourde at all. After how good the 3rd Line played together. Maybe Killorn I could see. But I think they’ve already made their choose on Johnson.

You might have to give up Sergachev’s rights to get Detroit or Rangers to take on Johnson and Killron. That might be TB’s best move..lol.

Tampa can't afford to retain $2 millio on Johnson for 4 years, And fat chance he waives for anywhere to play 3rd line minutes. I only see him waiving for a team where he can play either 1C or 2C.

I don’t think picks, as assets, to take that contract on in a flat cap year is gonna be enough. They are gonna have to retain something. Maybe not 2M, but they will end up retaining some.
