Description

The Habs have Toffoli Gallagher and Anderson, making Armia making 2.6 mil on their 4th line, and would not be re-signed by them next year. The Sharks likely would save most their money for Donato and not extend Armia, but this would be a quality depth rightie, and a guy who can catch fire, as seen at the start of Armia's last season. Basically, the Sharks need to bring in someone that will pressure Donato for that top 6 role, this righty would. LTIR guys just who I think at least get 9 game trials. Do the Habs need depth LW. I would imagine if there is more cap shedding by them, it could be a need.

Armia probably won’t be re-signed, but he’s still extremely valuable to the team. He’s a beast on the 4th line and a good player on the higher lines. The habs won’t move him, and will probably keep him as an own rental.

I don’t think we move anyone. We have depth at every position and WHEN injuries happen we have nhl players to step up. Weal getting sent to the minors gets us under the cap.

I really like Armia - any team that picks him up (either by trade or FA) will be very happy. I've wanted him on NSH for a while and think a Jarnkrok - Sissons - Armia would be a 3rd great line.

... Yes I know that Armia is better than Sorensen. That is why there is picks attached to the trade. A 30 point guy last year for an 18 point guy plus picks. The habs have no way to play him effectively nor re sign him. In the 18-19 season Sorensen out-performed Armia actually, so the trade is fair.

The point being on the 3rd line in 18-19, Sorensen had 17 goals, he isn't that terrible and would play on the pk. The Habs are playing a low-end middle 6 player on the 4th line, when they could get an immediate 4th liner plus assets, it is fair.
