The deal is better with the second added, but I still just think Paniks contract is too long

Panik could play second line in SJ this year. Sorensen looks like 4L in WSH. Doubt SJ gets a pick there.

Yes they can. $2.75 million for 3 more years for a bottom 6 player is bad asset management. Moving from a mid-4th rounder to a late 2nd rounder doesn't make it a good deal still.

Think you overestimate this Capitals team... going to be a disaster lol. Wouldn’t be surprised if we miss the playoffs. If we make it we get bounced early so itd be a mid 2nd

I am excited to come back to this post after the caps make it to the Eastern Conference Finals this year...

I don't like Panik, but getting a 2nd in return is pretty damn good. Plus we could probably flip him elsewhere and retain that 2nd. I don't see why not at least.

With our bottom six and defense right now.. not happening. Dillon sucks, Schultz is good but probably not a good fit with Orlov as they both struggle defensively Mx Also who knows how well Samsonov is going to be after his major injury

I think right now it’s PHI/CBJ as the playoff locks and everyone else is up in the air.

Right when I read "DIllon Sucks, Schultz is good" I stopped reading. That is a pretty interesting analysis bud

Schultz was very good before his injuries last two seasons.. stop with the recency bias or bias against Pittsburgh. If he’s healthy he’s much better than Dillon. The Caps are assuming he’s healthy or he wouldn’t get paid $4 million over two seasons when there is a flat cap.

Dillon is slow, takes bad penalties, does nothing offensively, doesn’t fit well with Carlson. That pair is extremely slow and can be abused too. There is a reason we saw Barzal fly past them for the GWG in playoffs. Just because he’s somewhat good defensively doesn’t mean > Schultz. I like what Schultz brings all around and a healthy Schultz I take over Dillon any day of the week. The problem is that Schultz doesn’t pair well with Orlov as he’s an offensively minded dman. Orlov needs a stay at home RHD like a Tanev or a Niskanen.

Dillon-Schultz could be a good pair but I doubt we see much of it unless Carlson goes down. As of now,
Dillon doesn’t fit with Carlson and Orlov doesn’t fit with Schultz. It wasn’t smart acquisitions by GMBM and if he trades someone like Panik and doesn’t get a legit replacement our bottom six is garbage. If he trades Jensen we have to play TVR most games which isn’t ideal. He got benched over Gardiner for a reason. He’s not as good as some make him out to be

"Schultz WAS very good". Key word -> was. LOL.

Dillon is a stay at home physical defender. He wasn't resigned for his offensively ability.

Trust me, I would love to be proven wrong, but to say that Schultz is better than Dillon because he was good 2 years ago is pretty outrageous...
