Eriksson sucks. He isn't even a $1M player, yet his cap hit is $6M. No one is taking that without major compensation. A 1st is a starter. If they aren't willing to spend that much, then he's staying. That's all there is to it.

Eriksson's actual cost for the final two years of his contract is $8M. Well tbh there's $5M left since VAN should've paid this year's signing bonus already. Fan-freaking-tastic. Still that contract is putrid, and if you ask me it belongs to the bottom-10 in the league.

Benning most likely knew that he isn't getting rid of these contracts so he did the thing he does best - he did nothing. He let every asset leave the team and surprisingly pretty much everyone of them signed surprisingly team-friendly deals with their new teams...
