At $8x5 I wouldn't hate it. That's actually a pretty solid price.

I don't think $8M is an unfair price for Hall, I just think signing him is a move NSH regrets after a year or two.

I don't understand the Turris buyout - $2m x 8 years is insane. At least give him one more year... losing both Bonino and Turris is big. Questionable center depth now.

I don't get it either, and the Santini buy out even less. The cap savings on Santini are so minimal, and I thought he was a good partner for Davies in MIL, from a development perspective. The biggest positive for the team with that move is they save a few hundred thousand in actual dollars. Makes me concerned there could be something to that internal cap rumour another poster mentioned earlier today (not that I've seen any corroborating evidence for that).

It's certainly not as strong C depth as it was, but Sissons, Jarnkrok, and Trenin should be able to backfill those roles. Jarnkrok is probably going to prove how valuable he is, not that we didn't already know.

If we go after Hall, I'd rather pay a higher price for shorter term... say 9.5M x 3 years. Hall still gets to go after another big pay day and we don't get hit with a long term contract if things go all Turris on us. Grab Benning for less than Gudas cost to compensate for the cap difference. Benning is a competent 3rd pairing Dman.

Benning could make sense. Now that we know Stecher is available, I think he could be a good fit for 3rd pair too. I really wanna see Ekholm and Gudas clear the crease on the PK to be honest. I don't think anyone would mess with those two.
