Hard pass to the Detroit trade.
Nielsen is gone in two seasons, and still performs somewhat adequately in the bottom six (albeit heavily overpaid). Neal costs more, is signed an extra year longer, and wouldn't produce anywhere near as well on Detroit compared to Edmonton. AA's rights are basically worth nothing, as any team that wants to sign him can just wait until Edmonton doesn't give a qualifying offer, then sign him for free. Add that into wanting a 2nd for this debacle, and you have a trade very heavily slanted in Edmonton's favor. No thanks.
