Description
I know the lines are a mess and the value could be too, but I saw a quote and remembered seeing fan speculation from around something like this in the past so I thought I'd throw it out there.

Not sure if this is close or if someone has to add or what? But I thought it'd be worth trying and seeing what feedback i get

Vegas has always shied away from big moves for players with less than 5 years term. They need Glass and Krebs way more than they need a RHD.
Don't want Dumba anyway.

3 year term is nothing to shy away from. I understand the importance of Glass and Krebs to the org, but they don’t win them a cup in the next year or two. The Pietrangelo talk does bring into question the Idea that they don’t “need” for a RHD into question. That said, Dumba is not Pietrangelo.

He's not Pie, no, and they should either swing for the fences or go for a bargain bottom pairing RHD as defense isn't a huge concern with the emergence of Whitecloud. If they fail to sign Petro, I'd pursue Montour or Barrie if I'm VGK.

Yeah, even Petro seems like over reacting. I heard Vegas being thrown around at the deadline for Dumba as well and i was never able to really see the need but this return seems like what they would want back for him.

Fleury also isn't waving his NTC to go to MIN. That's another big hiccup for this trade.

Not saying that Fleury would waive, but supposedly he and Bill Guerin have a great relationship from their days in Pitt. Sounds like Fleury is looking for a team where he's the starter, which he would be in MN. I would assume he'd rather go to a contender which MN is not.

Not giving up Krebs or glass in any trade with MAF. Can’t do it. Won’t do it.

Not that I disagree with the sentiment, or that Vegas should make this move, but this trade is not even remotely close to the same as giving up Krebs or Glass to dump Fleury.

Dumba is a good player, not the guy I’m giving up krebs or glass for. The only way I’m involving either in a trade is for an immediate 1c.

I'm not gonna argue with your sentiment, because Fleury is clearly a player that values relationships. Bill Guerin could be enough, certainly, if they built a bond in PIT.
However, I just don't see how Flower agrees to end his career in a rebuild. He'll have more than just Minnesota as starting options.
