Highly likely that every team declines, Ottawa maybe accepts but that would be purely on how Dorion values Puljujarvi. Sens fans will tell you you're offering too much, Edmonton rebuts by claiming it's a hair too little.

Vegas gets their goalie situation fixed and adds a proven 15-20 goal scoring 4th liner, all while making 1.5 mil in cap space

Nashville trades for Russell because he is only owed 1.5 mil in real dollars, (and Russell waives NMC because he is a country guy from rural Alberta)

Honestly the Chaisson one could be a 5th but he still is able to work some PP while mentoring some youngings

And I also don't care where Khaira goes, and/or even it's a 5th

But Neal isn't the piece Vegas needs to be spending nearly $6M on. They need a premier pivot or RHD, and all signs point to Neal heavily regressing over the last 3 years of his deal.

Nor should Edmonton be interested in $11.5M of goaltending. Quality goaltending is important sure, but not at the expense of an eighth of our cap space. Somewhere in the realm of $6-7M for two goaltenders is good enough.

Bonino has more value than Russell, period. Nashville isn't one of those teams that frets over actual dollars spent and likely wouldn't trade for Russell for that reason. Can't see that trade happening without another asset going to Nashville, and Edmonton doesn't have enough of a stockpile to afford that trade.

Chiasson's a two-million dollar fourth line winger with utility. You arent getting that kind of pick back for him without retaining or eating a cheaper deal. I like Chiasson for Weal and Montreal's fourth, and the rational Habs fans here can live with it too.

Khaira has utility more valuable than a late pick as a cap dump, and i think there's merit in keeping him on the roster. I wouldn't re-up him at his current AAV but if he wanted $1M for 4 years next offseason, I'd probably sign him for that. He's a fantastic penalty killer, he's just a touch expensive.

Got a question since you are a EDM fan it seems like, but if you guys were to move on from RNH because he's in the final yr what would you want back?

Picks and player?

The moon. He really shouldn't be considered available. High likelihood he signs for around the Kevin Hayes deal, and Edmonton needs his kind of ilk badly, especially if he's going to be a 30G-50A guy as either McDavid or Draisaitl's winger.

The Vegas deal seems a bit far fetched, but the others may not be.

Russell for Bonino could make some sense for both teams. The financial implications aren't really the issue here. Compared to Russell, Bonino has a marginally higher cap hit and is owed only $200,000 more in actual salary. Edmonton needs a 3C and some space for its young d-men and emerging prospects. Nashville needs some depth outside of its top-4 d-men, and room for its younger forwards to gain ice time. Both players have contracts that expire at the end of the next season, so there is no long-term commitment assumed by either team. The probability of this deal occurring is likely dependent on whether Nashville can get a better offer elsewhere. From the Oilers' perspective, they would be hard pressed to find a better return for Russell, and it is difficult to imagine the player blocking a trade to Nashville.

I think for a team like Montreal Chiasson is worth a mid-4th round pick. That's a decent price to pay for a home grown veteran depth forward, with a Stanley Cup ring, especially one who is still effective when deployed appropriately.

Its difficult to say what Khaira might fetch on the trade market, and I suppose it really depends on what a team is looking for from him. His biggest issue is consistency, but when he's on his game he can be an effective bottom six player. If toughness is important, Khaira is a decent player in that regard, and it so happens that last season he ranked best in league in goals against/60 minutes of PK time among player who played 90 minutes of PK. A very late 4th round pick probably isn't out of the question.

Personally I would be disappointed if Puljujarvi was traded for a 2nd round pick. I think it is a very fair return for a young player who has already proven to be at least a decent NHL 3rd line forward. Although his future is not yet known, he is still big, strong, fast, and skilled, and tearing it up in Finland again. The potential remains impressive.

I like the acquisition of Jesper Fast, but I would prefer to see Puljujarvi signed in Edmonton and the balance of that $3,000,000 go to either a more realistic option in net, or a better option on the left wing.
