I hate the UFA signings. Dipietro not ready, so can’t trade Bernier. CBJ probably say no. STL probably say no. Uncertain feeling toward Vancouver deal, kind of underwhelming for Detroit, I get that those positions are organizational needs, but I think I’d rather have a 1st instead of Juolevi. And DiPietro lacks size

Sorry.... that’s not getting your Korpisalo.... the 2nd is the only thing in that whole trade Columbus has any interest in at all and with it being EDM in 2021 we aren’t moving Korpisalo for that.

What’s the value of your third goaltender, the Latvian kid Matiss. He seems like the odd man out at the moment. Unsigned RFA who won’t be waiver exempt.. Probably could be had for a price no?

As of right now he would have to be traded for another 3rd goalie (around the same age) or player like that. Kevleniks and Korpisalo are the only 2 goalies Columbus has that can be exposed in the expansion draft and rules say you must expose 1, so if we move Kevleniks we’d need a goalie back to replace him as an exposable goalie. Honestly I don’t see him as anything more then a back up on a bubble team or a team with a strong number 1 who plays 70 games.

So basically Calvin Pickard and a draft pick/prospect equal to Kevleniks. Detroit could give him a shot in the NHL to be a backup next year or potentially more if he turns out to be good. Something CBJ couldn’t offer rn with logjam in front of him. Maybe take a shot at Perlini’s RFA rights to add depth scoring for CBJ

Pickard and one of EDMs 2nds or a 3rd would probably be fair, due to age difference and honestly Kevleniks is better then Pickard.

Blues don't consider moving their first to dump cap, even if Pietrangelo was signing. Plenty of other ways to do it.

Whoa whoa whoa.. pump brakes.. Matiss is not worth a 2nd. But I did ask for his organizational value and so I thank you for the assessment.

Pickard is not the primary return, he carries no value, other than the stated need to return a goalie for expansion draft. I would think Kevleniks value somewhere between a 3rd and 4th. Which is why I brought up Perlini who Wings traded a 3rd rd prospect for. I’d maybe trade Vegas 2021 3rd which the Wings own for Matiss. And trading that pick is probably not even a good idea for us vs acquiring backup goalie without giving up assets. But yeah I’d probably give up a third I guess.
