nope nope nope, if we are trading Burns, we aren't going to send his eventual replacement along with him too.

Yeah I actually would very much consider a Merkley for (insert high caliber prospect here) swap, but if we're getting rid of Burns, it wouldn't be smart to also get rid of Merkley.

In a vacuum, I agree, but in this scenario at least there's Benning and DeMelo. Granted, they're nowhere near elite as we're expecting with Merkley, but that's in a few years and they provide above-average solidification of the defense for the next few years at least at RD. (Also, not advocating this btw, just devil's advocating)

I dunno about that. Provided they protect Burns in the ED, they're losing either Sanheim or Myers to Seattle. Think one of them had to be included in the trade to make it work from that perspective. Also with Patrick's career being a question mark due to his migraine issues, I don't see moving Frost as a realistic option for them.

How about something like this:

San Jose Sharks
Jakub Voracek
Travis Sanheim
German Rubtsov/Jay O'Brien (pick the one you like more)
2021 3rd round pick (PHI)

Philadelphia Flyers
Brent Burns
Kevin Labanc (Voracek replacement)
Mario Ferraro (Sanheim replacement that won't need to be protected)

Honestly, that's a super interesting proposal. It's the type that you just kind of have to sit and think about for a long while... at first glance I don't think I'd consider but if the 3rd were changed to a 1st since Labanc and Ferraro are both provens at this point, and Ferraro's really underrated and cost-effective, I'd definitely think long and hard on it. It would entirely depend on DW's strategy... if he's fully demolishing the roster for youth and going for a rebuild, it makes sense. If he's still in the retool camp, he doesn't do it.

Personally, I'd give our existing roster one more shot with Patty/Jumo with two or three solid free agents reinforcing the depth along with a Danault trade and/or a Burns/Voracek swap. The draft next season will likely take a key player (and his contract) out, so I'd consider a rebuild if it warrant considering then.

What I really wanna know tho is how you got those logos there lol

This is a really interesting one actually. I dunno. I like the proposal a good deal. The real issue here is that moving Ferraro will cost a lot. He has a lot of upside, and we really like him here. Labanc is expendable, but also not an asset we should give away for too little. The I'm not sure who I'd rather have between Myers and Sanheim. They're both good, but it would really come down to if Sanheim can pair with Erik Karlsson or not. If he can, the Sharks might go in that direction, But honestly I'd feel much more inclined to target Myers if Philly was giving up one of the because of the expansion draft. He'll be cheaper, and a better fit with Vlasic I think on the 2nd pair. Like I said though the real issue is losing Ferraro here. Also O'Brian and Rubtsov are both very underwhelming. We'd rather not have either of them and get a better pick back.

Press the smilies icon from above the text bar. There's a logos option there.

As for the offer, I kinda agree with you there, but giving a 1st might be a bit much. Maybe if it was conditional, something like a 2nd that turns into first rounder if Flyers makes it to the 2nd round or ECF.

This is highly bad for the flyers - they kindly decline and say enjoy Burns at 40
