just curious if a trade like this could work for both teams or not with leafs deep in decent def on left and rangers deep on the right, both sandin and lundkvist are statically the same player just opposite handed players,both player together at world jrs and both played on PP1, and with nils pushing for a spot in rangers roster this upcoming season ADA would probably be the one to be traded to make way, but if rangers looking to keep ADA after a very good season maybe a straight swap could be made for both teams to strengthen there weaker sides on def over the years, what also helps the leafs team is with sandin burning a year of his elc it could help leafs longterm but also helps rangers weaker left side for now..... WHAT DO U THINK good or bad trade ???

It is a very good comparison of similar players though.

Both are in the same tier as prospects. Tbh, I wouldn't do it as a Rangers fan, just b/c of our pipeline depth at RD (or lack thereof)

I like this idea, all depends on what the Rangers decide to do with Fox/Trouba/DeAngelo. I’m not sure they want to play one of those 3 on the 3rd pairing especially with what they’re going to be paying them.

DeAngelo has some questions to answer about his defensive ability. Nils projects to be a top 4 guy and obviously gotta go younger when you can afford to. Tony seems to be the odd one out as Nils will probably be ready for 3rd pair minutes the season after next...Trouba and Fox can both move the puck and were mostly better defensively than Tony. Rangers are extremely high on Nils and I think would prefer not to move him, and rather trade Tony because they see Fox developing into the kind of guy who can get the points Tony did, but be better all around as well

It makes sense on the surface but Deangelo is likely out of here this offseason or next so we stick with nils

We do. The problem is after them, it's Lundkvist and then Darren Raddysh (AHLer) and Hunter Skinner (might not even be an AHLer)
