VGS can't afford to retain salary. Anyone reading for andreas will want money out. And Tor will want more then just a second and a third for Freddy. And any team looking at Freddy will want money out.

Seems like Leafs fans are fairly focused on Anderson to Canes. So I'll keep stating the same thing: it's not a terrible thought, but there's no way Canes give up much given that Anderson is statistically similar to Mrazek. AND Anderson only has one year left on his contract. What's plausible is something like Mrazek for Anderson and both Leafs and Canes get to try out each goalie for a year before they become free agents.

Maybe not but they're probably gonna have to eat some $$$. There's a fair amount of goalies available & it seems obvious they wanna move him.

Except Freddie plays on a much worse defensive team, facing more shots, largely quality ones & plays more games

The actual dollars owed on Andersens contract is almost 3 million less than Mrzak. That in itself is worth a lot.

Fleury honestly is the most overrated player of this era. Playing on good teams his whole career with mediocre numbers and playoff choke jobs. Then he has this one elite season in Vegas and people think that's what he is. He was a .905 goalie this year at age 35. You don't want him.

i wont lie. i dont mind this at all.
i think vgk wont retain salary but you can make a 3 way trade (with the middle team retaining salary much like how toronto facilitated the lehner deal to VGK. vegas owes us one favor in return)

i might want to keep justin holl as he fits perfectly as a 3rd pairing def.
dermott (although better than holl, has higher trade value return)
demelo probably gets paid slightly bit more as many teams interested in him.
freddie trade maybe receive a bit less. a 2nd and a 5th maybe.

i think this is pretty doable. i like this idea

That might be the most foolish thing I have read today. Mrazek is no where near as good as Andersen. That’s not even getting into my own bias. Yes a down year for Andersen during a great career... mrazek... not so much.

The Leafs should give up an asset to have a 3rd team eat MAF's salary. That's something we can all agree on.

But the reason that they're moving him is to bring in a big ticket of almost equivalent size -- specifically, Robin Lehner. If they can't sign Lehner, then there's no need to trade Fleury. If they CAN sign Lehner, then they almost certainly have to get rid of Fleury's entire salary. Which means that despite what a couple of inexperienced Golden Knights fans have told me, Las Vegas is going to have to pay to get rid of him.

Make that every California team. None of us needs a $3.4 million middle-6 LW.

We already have a Johnsson in Marcus Sorensen and he makes 1.9 mil less, Kane, Meier and Gregor fill out the rest of the LW slots. Ducks have Jones, Milano and Heinen, all at least just as valuable as AJ and making significantly less. Idk about LA but seriously **** LA.

People might be surprised to see that the Canes were one of the worst teams this season in giving up high danger chances. Also, Anderson might be a slightly better goalie than Mrazek, but it's not overwhelming. Look at their stats over the last two seasons. Plus Anderson is over 30 now, has one year left, and isn't a top tier goalie ... that's a lot of risk for Canes and there's just no way they give up a lot for Anderson. If he had multiple years left and the Canes staff really thought he could be the team's starter for a few seasons, then it would be different IMO.

We have differing opinions on Andersen it seems.
