Columbus declines. We're already overstocked on defensemen; we'd probably want to swing a trade for Boeser ourselves, honestly.

I'm sure he does, but Jarmo knows the focus is up front. And there's no chance we add D at the expense of forwards.

Devils are insanely thin at RW so they probably accept. Trading Boeser feels like a panic move for Van.

Don't yell at me, I don't know a ton about CBL prospects, but with defensemen like Gavrikov & Peeke looking like they're on the cusp of being full time NHLers, is there a point where Jones becomes available to balance things out? (ie. Jones/Boeser being the starting point of a trade) I know he was sensational this post season, but hear me out. Is a right side of Savard, Nutivaara, Peeke enough to stabalize the back end if it means a more potent offense?

Not yelling, but... that's a hard no. Jones is prized by the front office, and isn't going to Vancouver in any deal that doesn't bring back Pettersson, and yes I'm serious. Jones is about as untradeable as it gets, as are Werenski and Dubois.

If Vancouver wants a D from Columbus, Savard/Nuti/Murray are the most likely options, with Gavrikov only available in a clear win for CBJ. Josh Anderson might be available up front, depending on how his RFA negotiations go with the team, and there's reason to believe Boone Jenner is available, too. We also have goalie prospects available (Vehvilainen/Tarasov).

There is 2 players on Vancouvers roster that would get them Jones. Pettersson and Horvat... doubt they’d move either of them for Jones.

Benning has made comments (in early July) that suggested he wasn't enamored of Boeser. And with Pettersson, Hughes and Demko needing extensions soon, Vancouver will have to create cap room somewhere. Given the NMCs on Edler/Ferland and the M-NTCs on Eriksson/Sutter/Roussel (coinciding with a downturn in perceived value for those last three), Boeser is one of the more palatable options for trading, since Horvat and Miller aren't likely to go anywhere.
