Flames Moves ARI and PHI

Description
For Arizona, they have been rumored to be willing to part with Kuemper in need of top 6 forwards. Mangiapane is young and solidified himself as a top 6 forward with room to improve. Rittich is not at the caliber of Kuemper, but was an All-Star goalie that would be a great 1B or a decent 1A with Raanta - and is much cheaper than Kuemper. Calgary gets a chance to sign Hall before free agency which allows them to confidently trade Gaudreau know they have his replacement.

With Philly, I suspect they won't love this trade, but neither do Flames fans, so it could be fair value. Gaudreau is the better player and on a great contract. He will also resign with Philly at a discount. Myers is a RD that calgary needs, and Kylington has tons of potential but is just buried on the left side in Calgary. The picks are to balance things out, but could be changed or omitted as people see fit.

As a flames fan, I would also be looking for trades for Ryan to unload some salary and bring in a less expensive 4C, freeing up some money for a #6 RD.

Philly and ARI fans - is the value close?
Flames fans? Are we any better?

Generally I would agree, but with Treliving having a reputation as a solid contract negotiation, Hall wanting to play in Calgary (rumored), and a flat cap over the next few years, around 7 seems possible on the longer 7 year term I used. With a Ryan trade we could afford Hall up to 7,500,000 but I'd likely shave a year or two off the term if that was the case.

Treliving has a reputation for negotiating with RFA's not UFA's. Also what's the point in trading for Hall's rights?

I like the look of this team, but I would deal Ryan, just anywhere for a pick. Hall will make minimum 7.5. I was told by an Arizona fan the ask for Kuemper was 1st + B prospect. I think it might be a better idea to do that, and bridge Mangiapane for 1-2 years. We can find another trade partner for Rittich and get a pick. For a backup I’d rather trade a 3rd to Ottawa for Nilsson at half retained (1.3mil), Brossoit is pretty bad. Not sure if all this works out cap wise (mental math is telling me we can sign Mangiapane to a 2yr 2.5mil bridge deal if we decrease Rieder to 800k and run a 22-man roster, is that right?) but keeping Mangiapane would be better if possible, it would mean Lindholm can slide to 2C, which gives us crazy C depth. Might also make Backlund expendable but I don’t want to get into that lol

Flyers are light on RW, incredibly shallow on RHD and have 6 NHL caliber LW on the current roster... so yeah, we don’t live the trade. It doesn’t help us fill any roster hole but creates two new ones.

Yea I kinda feel like with the contract they gave TK they won't move him. I have a feeling its farabee/frost that goes in a gaudreau trade

That does make sense. If it's Farabee (preferred over Frost) then likely would need another smaller add. With that said, I think Calgary has be careful not to go quantity over quality. We need at least 1 quality piece and some futures for Gaudreau for the trade to be considered a success. Not convinced Philly is the best trade partner, but we all know that's where he'd like to end up!
