All in all, it's as bad the other way as this is this way. No exaggeration. I just trust a .914 goalie (Reimer) more than I trust a .909 goalie (Freddie)

Freddy has a great record, and had by far his worst season. And don't forget Carilona's defence is mile's ahead of Toronto's.

Carolina's defense was all on IR at the end of the season, so don't forget the Canes didn't have one! They were trading for Skjei at the deadline cause Vatanen, Hamilton and Pesce were all hurt

It's still hard to argue James is better than Freddy. James had an average, in fact more of a up season. Freddy had which is by far the worst of his career. Reimer has a way better defence.

I'd actually go as far as to argue that with Hamilton and Pesce injured, the Toronto defence was better than Carolina's. No Vatanen, or Skjei, Edmundson is a black hole, Fleury did kind of emerge a la justin Holl, Gardiner.... van Reimsdyk was playing hurt and is meh to begin with. In terms of xGA, they were certainly comparable (that would be the affect of Joel Edmundson) and I don't think you can argue right now that a goalie with 1 year left coming off a .909 save percentage season with a 5,000,000 cap hit is more valuable than a goalie with 1 year left coming off a .914 season with a 3,400,000 cap hit. Also, .914 is Reimer's career average. Florida destroyed his reputation, but he proved this year he's still a reliable goalie
