Ha! Two of those three Rangers you mentioned are straight garbage.

Granted, Andersson's development hasn't been what one would hope of a #7 OA, but he's 21 and playing on a rebuilding team. With the exception of Petterson in VAN, none of the other centres drafted in 2017 have yet exploded on the scene. He'll likely never be a dominant player, but I wouldn't rush to give up on Andersson (or at least his value as a trade piece) just yet.

Danault is gong to have the same role in NYC as he would in Montreal, so I'm not sure he'd be any happier there.

In the playoffs Danault was mostly playing on a line that’s pretty much meant just to shut down the other team. I’d say it’s considerably different playing with Panarin and Kakko.

I’d consider this, although ideally we don’t add a LHD. Any other prospect you’d be willing to swap Robertson out for?

No, he's playing in Sweden, because he doesn't have the skating ability or character to play in North America. And there are many centers from the 2017 draft that have lapped Andersson multiple times already. I could be wrong in the end, he could see the light or whatever. But as of right now, he looks like a waster to me.

As I said, that would likely last a year, but Chytil would likely squeeze Danault out of the 2C role within a year. Danault needs to embrace that he's likely the BEST 3C in the game (and win a few Selke's along the way) or be a very average 2C, which is all his numbers support. He does not have the explosive shot of a scoring centreman and, on a line with snipers (like Gallagher and Tatar), he's a high-slot, prevent-the-fast-break, responsible centreman. He's excellent. He's smart. But he's not dominant offensively and seems hardwired to prioritize D over O.

Not many have "lapped him" and his skating is fine. Yes, he's a bit soft. Granted, Petterson is special and Suzuki (13th overall) had an excellent rookie season. But Mittelstadt (8th), Rasmussen (9th), Tippett (10th) and Vilardi (11th) have hardly made a dent. They will, but centremen take time. Rob Thomas and Chytil are really the only two (other than Petterson and Suzuki) from later in the draft who have jumped well ahead in terms of development. Absolutely true, in his rookie season, Andersson couldn't get a handle on the defensive responsibilities at the NHL level. But we have to remember he was playing on an AWFUL team that finished near the bottom of the league and earned the #2OA pick (Kakko). Last season, Andersson decided to step back and the team and he decided to go home to Sweden to work on making his game more creative and complete. But lots of kids emerge from Europe at 22+ and have long, healthy careers.

Heh. His skating is sub-par, this is not a hot take.

Dude, you're skipping over a lot of 2017 draft centers and downplaying others. Hischier has more points than Petterson as of now (and with lesser line mates/D support), and you didn't even mention him. You also neglected to mention Necas and Patrick. Villardi has as many goas in 10 NHL games as Andersson does in 66. He can't score or check. Thomas is worlds past him in every way. Glass, Studnicka, Geekie, Poehling, Frost and Texier will be soon enough. Heck, Bemstrom (117th overall) is making Andersson look lame.

Side note: Tippett is not a center.

Good job targeting Dunn. Bad job targeting Danault (Low Term doesn't work)
