Stamkos to LTIR and Eichel to Tampa

Description

There has been a lot of speculation recently that the latest injury to Steven Stamkos is more serious than it was originally thought to be and that it could potentially be career ending. I am a huge fan of the captain so hopefully this is completely wrong and he returns in this playoffs but I am just looking at a worst case scenario. Eichel seems to be interested in leaving Buffalo for a place that he can win and this is the case in Tampa for the foreseeable future. Sergachev has been amazing for Tampa but signing both him and Cirelli seems more and more unlikely as both have played so well. Tampa has enough forward depth in its system to fill out a forth line and still give up many assets to Buffalo. Would this be enough to land Jack Eichel?

Buffalo would probably want another first and maybe a 2nd. And maybe instead of Volkov, use ABB.

Also, where did you hear about a career ending injury? I know it’s bad but career ending, where did you get that?

He hasn’t really said he wants out he’s just frustrated. But he won’t be moved this offseason especially not to a divisional team.

Well assuming he says he wants out, which he of course hasnt, there would be an open market. Nhl owners and gms have a history of losing their minds on july 1st when ufa starts. If you further assume the sabres are looking for a futures package, all the sabres have to do is take back some cap to free up 10 million for the other team. Then probably a boatload of prime futures. This isnt close.

But what I read was thatmany players have been through the same core injury that he has and it has taking them 6-8 weeks to recover but for him it has taken nearly 5 months. Obviously this is just speculation but still worrying that it has taken him so long to recover.
