The problem with this PK trade is the pens don’t have the long term cap space for this kind of deal. You’d have to re-sign McCann, Blueger, Marino, Jarry. And after Jarry and McCann take 1 year prove it deals are going to want significant increases for taking the cheap 1 year deals. Marino even with a bridge deal will likely be around the 4 million mark at least. Blueger will likely get around that 2 million mark. And the cap likely won’t raise by much in that year, if at all. But even if we are being generous raising it by 3 million, that only gives the pens 11.3 million cap space to sign 9 players, which includes those 4 players making up pretty much all of that space.
Idk if it would be possible to workout where the pens pay his signing bonus and in return NJ retains half his cap. I mean JJ isn’t as bad of a cap dump and Bjugstad is only a 1 year of cap dump.
