Personally, I don't have interest in Johnson. I don't want to add another 30+ year old forward with a big salary signed to a long-term deal.

Why would the Oilers give up a third for a fourth liner ??
Oilers need depth picks rn they would laugh at that lol

It'd be one year of Johnson, if Nashville didn't want him long term or things didn't work out etc. He's still capable of being a 2nd line C/W for many teams given the opportunity(which he isn't going to get in Tampa). Nashville is likely a team he would consider waiving to, but if a deal can't be reached, so be it: there will be others interested.

That's fine, then I guess Tampa will trade him elsewhere. He's worth more than a late 2nd.

He's capable of being a 3C or 3rd liner on other teams, just not Tampa. Edmonton may not work out but his value is in the 3rd/4th range.

He has made it pretty clear that he wants to stay in Tampa and is willing to work with the team to get a deal done. Tampa also doesn't want to move him. I have little doubt that Cirelli is staying as Tampa's 2C, but for the sake of this agm I took a different approach. If Tampa looks to move him though, a deal like this is what Tampa is going to be looking for. They aren't interested in mid to late 1st round picks for him, but quality elc guys/prospects that could step in and play next year. The deal could be tweaked a bit, but from Tampa's pov, if it was a deal from the Rangers that didn't have Chytil, Fox, or N. Lundkvist as the main piece, Tampa quickly declines.

What do you mean one year of Johnson?

If the trade went down, and then for whatever reason Nashville wanted to move on, they could ask TJ for a 20 team trade list after next year(plus the option of Seattle) per his contract becoming a m-ntc.

I suppose. But I'd hate to make a trade with the thought of moving that player in one year. I would put my interest at Killorn > Palat > Johnson in terms of who I'd look to grab from TBL. I like that he can score though, just need more consistency from him.

Okay, that's fine as well. If a team thinks they're going to get him without giving up at least one high level young player in return at a position Tampa needs, regardless of the team, they're thinking is very wrong.

It's certainly possible that Tampa and Nashville could be trading partners for Killorn. What do you think Nashville would be willing to offer? I don't see Palat getting moved, but more likely Killorn and Johnson in order to keep the three primary rfa's.

And then Cirelli rejects it quickly since he's not interested in leaving Tampa.

I think 2nd and 3rd is fair value for Killorn. Or something around Jarnkrok.

Maybe Jarnkrok+ for Killorn. I think Killorn could get a later 1st as part of a package deal perhaps, but at least 2nd+3rd value(and that would be if there's minimal interest most likely).
