Would Minny decline getting a pretty decent, youngish and probably affordable, if somewhat inconsistent, 2nd line centre just to maintain 7 spots in the draft? If they were top 5 for sure, but spots 9 through 16 seem not so far off

Yes, the drop from 9 to 16 should be pretty large. It sounds they have their heart set on drafting lundell. And if it’s such a small drop then why would mtl do that?

Domi isn't a good 2C, he's a good 3C/bad 2C. He'd be behind Staal and JEE on the center depth chart next year in MN.

He should be playing wing and MN needs -3 LWs already.

Fair point! Hey, if they really like Lundell, they should def. keep the pick. I don't think the deal is unfair, but I can agree that it might not meet the needs of either team
