imo they could have easily got Kappy for Hallander and a 2nd round pick.. im just baffled at the cost of a 40 point 24 year old winger. idk if hes the guy that pushes them over the edge... GMJR is really banking a lot on KAppy and Sid clicking... i would have went for Domi.... i think hes more of what they need...

I completely agree. I think they could have paid less for what they got. GMJR has to have a rep around the league as the first place to go if you want 1st Round picks.

If the team doesn't look right half way through next year they have to make a complete change in the front office. The 2022 draft is shaping up to be really solid and this dude's about to trade our first for Jack Johnson 2.0.

I thought Kuhun was fitting in nicely. I don't know what his next contract will look like, but I bet it would have been less than 3.2 and we clearly would have kept the pick.

You knew this whole off season was gonna go sideways when GMJR stood by Jack Johnson once again after one of the worst post season performances I've ever seen. Dude just doesn't understand what needs to be fixed.

I would have much rather kept Kuhun and used the 1st to dump the JJ contract. Imagine trading it with JJ for like a 3rd round pick or something... all that sounds better than this.

You knew it was gonna cost Pitt a lot to fix the error of the JJ contract but I had no idea it would be this bad, the GM refuses to even acknowledge it as a problem.

yeah im generally curious as to what he'll do next bc the return Kapp got i would assume slightly more could have got you nylander but if a 40 point winger can get the 15oa + i have no idea what gonna happen

Cagguila never scored more than 20 points in a season. We have enough of those forwards on the roster de haan may be good but not qhen he only plays 39 games a year.

Caggiula's value is more than his point production. He's a grinder, goes into the corners and fights for the puck. His physicality and intensity make him a valuable asset to any team and he can play anywhere in the lineup. All that and he can still chip in 10-15 goals a year. I wouldn't do him for McCann 1 for 1 if I was Pittsburgh, but he'd be a good replacement for McCann if Pittsburgh does trade him.

As for De Haan, your concerns are a little more valid given his recent injury history, but with the long layoff and recovery from his last injury, there's a good chance he's 100% and fully ready for next season
