Fisrt and foremost the Maatta trade. NJD need young capable defenseman and Maatta brings okay defense and playoff experience for a young team. The pick is either a 3rd to 5th rounder depending on negotiations.

Zack Smith is bought out due to incompetence.

Nylander is dealt to a team with a need for young forwards (I could see this not happening due to Torts having a history of difficulty with players like Nylander). Vehvilanen is consider a top goalie prospect by HockeyWriters.com, his agility and aggressive style of play in the net make up for his short stature. Had success in Liiga and a good stretch of play in his first year of the AHL.

The typical Bowman trading away an undervalued player for scraps b/c Colliton put him in the doghouse, it sucks cause he was doing well under Queneville but JC ruined his path to the NHL. The fact John Queneville started over him in Game 5 against Vegas is all you need to know. Bowman will have him gone. RIP Sikura

Another typical bowman move, the overpaid retread. Here bowman goes after an aging Hjalmarsson, who granted can still play and would be an upgrade on the blue line, but drastically over pays by giving up a former first rounder who hasn't shown his potential yet.

Idk if Koekoek and Caggiula get traded but I think they comeback in reality just didn't include them for times sake
