Why are you assuming Kreider is gone? Also, I’m not a Kings fan, but I believe they value him highly

Kreider just signed a new deal and has a full no move clause, he's a ranger for life at this point

He'd waive for a cup contender, we have stuck with him through the good and bad and paid him until retirement, im sure he would cut us some slack

I 100% don’t see him being moved at the draft before his NMC would kick in, but also, would not expect CK to be happy if he is on line 3 in a year or 2 and would waive the NMC. At trade deadline, nobody expected this obviously.

As a Kings fan, Gauthier and a 2nd would probably be a fair price. Maybe someone with a bit more upside than Goat. His value currently is a mid-2nd round pick with a B+/A- prospect attached, I would think. I know the Kings would want to use the Tampa Bay Goodrow trade as a basis for value (which was a 1st round pick), but with that pick expected to be in the late 20's, NY doesn't have a 1st round pick with that low of a value.

That being said, I don't think the Kings have an interest in trading Iafallo at this point. Their left wing depth is almost embarrassingly sad. And Iafallo has been one of the few bright spots with his gradual improvement year-after-year, along with his ability to play a consistent game with Kopitar. That, in itself, has been something pretty rare since Justin Williams has left and is worth significant value to the Kings organization.

While the NMC has yet to kick in, I can't see him getting traded. He took a pay cut to stay with NY, and the 6th and 7th year on that deal probably would scare away most teams from giving us what we would want in return, which would be a 1st and a prospect OR center OR lefty Dman. I think teams that would take him, like maybe the Avalanche, would probably offer something like a 2nd and Jost, and a deal like that, you probably might as well keep Kreider

Kreider is not getting traded. the Rangers need him in the top 6, i just think it will eventually be on the right side.
maybe Laf starts the season on the 3rd line or maybe he starts the season on the 2nd, in which case Kreider will most likely get moved to the right side...
Kreider is a north south guy, which the Rangers don't have very much of - too many east/west guys.
not to mention, either him or Mika will be wearing a C shortly...

Kings can't afford to trade Iafallo right now, especially if they're getting Byfield in the draft. They have no one else that can fill in at top six LW. They already have Kempe playing over his head at 2LW when he's more suited for a 3LW role. Maybe in a season or two after some of the young prospects can make the jump to the NHL and establish themselves.

There is zero chance that Kreider is gonna get moved. He just signed a new contract. JD said that he doesn't regret signing Kreider and that he think that Kreider will be a huge part of the future.
