Exactly. If anything it doesn’t make sense for the Habs. They’ve built up a really good up and coming core and they’re not going to throw it all away for one player who’s projected to be good at the next level.

I genuinely want to make a twitter to report that LouG guy for even suggesting that. And also report everyone saying no from the Rangers perspective. People saying no are the reason society isn't more advanced to this point.

Lou said yes to it by the way, and I wouldn't really call it "suggesting". His whole point was to say basically what everyone on this site has been saying since the lotto happened; the Rangers wouldn't take an offer that "just barely" is enough, it's not worth the risk they take on. They need to be blown away to the point that the other team would laugh in their face; if someone does it, then the Rangers get away with highway robbery. If no one does it, the Rangers get Lafreniere. Compare that to the "MTL 1st, 2nd, Mete, and Domi" offers that circulated a lot right after the lottery; even if historically comparable, those trades don't pay enough to buy out the Rangers interest in Lafreniere or the opportunity cost that comes with it in the form of risk. Cool, the raw value is on, but how stupid do you look when Mete and Domi are meh, the picks don't pan out, and Lafreniere is a superstar? That will matter, to the point where the price is just way too high.

To be clear, I voted yes when I saw it so fast I was worried I accidentally hit no when the results came up. I can't believe anyone said no either, honestly (as a Rangers fan).
