I'm so confused by the Monahan trades around here. Is this just so you can have multiple Tkachuk's? Because Brady playing 1C is a good way to guarantee that your team will be chasing the puck just every night.

I'd keep him. He's excellent, and there's probably not much out there upgrade-wise. You're also somewhat thin at C anyway.

Love that trade for the Preds, definitely seems to favor us. Ekholm’s great, but I’d hate to have to protect 4 D in the expansion draft again, gotta get something for him while we can.

Then again, I could see Gaudreau showing up to the Preds and putting up 50pts and massively underperforming as most offensive FA acquisitions for the Preds do.

The big reason is because he's not actually that good. He scores, but he's awful defensively, doesn't transition well, and is a poor passer to boot. Gaudreau drives the line, and though both have been poor this season, Gaudreau does better away from him, while he's worse away from Gaudreau.

have you watched the first round of the playoffs? He and Johnny have been practically invisible... no 5-on-5 points.

Haven't seen the Flames series TBH...I was surprised to hear that he's not that good. Very surprising!
