valimaki dosnt have 2 b protected in the expansion draft & has been a 1st round & top prospect for years, buffalo should accept imo, but it dosnt matter cause cgy says no

I agree that Valimaki has a huge potentiel, I would def be willing to acquire him but not for Jokiharju who is young and fitts perfectly our game style

Value is fair on the trade but the Sabres aren't trading more proven NHL commodities for something less proven. Valimaki may end up being the better player but he only has 24 NHL games compared to over 100 for Jokiharju.

Fair value would be the 1 for 1 swap. The 2nd definitely gives Buffalo the edge. I totally get your reasoning though.
