Given, and I've said this before, coming back from cut tendons is hard to do. There is a lot with those kind of injuries you don't realize or see. Loss of mobility, Loss of mechanical function.
I think he came back way to early and frankly did not look like himself. But that doesn't mean I'd give up on him yet. Tendons have low blood supply, they can take a long time to heal.
And they are notoriously hard to stretch because when they are cut they have to be overlapped back together leaving decreased function. That's true even with a graph because you never know the "right length" in the carpentry so to speak.
But it's too early to give up on him. He needs a year if not longer post injury.
