leafs better be getting a better dman than Ellis if they are trading Marner.
They can certaintly do a lot better than a soon to be 30year old that has always been more of a #3

Overvalued AJ and Dermott. Dermott is worth a 2nd(maybe I’m being optimistic) AJ is worth a 3rd maybe a 2nd if a team really desperate for a guy coming off a serious injury. Need to find a team that has 11 million in room to use on 1 player. Then that team needs to trade great assets to obtain him

Johnsson is worth a 3rd and even then the Leafs might need to retain $500K ish. I can't see anyone wanting to swallow a $3.4M cap hit for a guy that was on pace for only 15 goals playing on a line with 2 other "elite" players. A simple look at Johnsson's advanced stats away from the Matthews line shows he is not very good. Way too many left wing players you can plug in for cheaper and get the same results playing on that line and a players that aren't coming off of a major injury.

Leafs would never trade Marner who is a franchise player.
