Why? Harley won’t be ready until Bortuzzo’s contract expires

Nah this ain't it.

I'd rather keep Oleksiak over Bortuzzo, that's a personal bias but I hate Bortuzzo.

DAL ain't in place to give their 1st rounder away now. Our prospect pool is thin as f*ck and the draft's gonna be deep. Gonna need that pick more than Strome.

TOR probably declines that trade, although I wouldn't oppose it.

Did you worked on your lines? Because Pavelski on the first line and Gurianov on the third? IMO Gurianov and Hintz should play together since they fly at the same speed.

I would not touch Strome and would let another team overpay him. His first very good offensive season happened with Panarin. Coincidence? I do not think so.

And you are taking a big risk by playing Oettinger after only one year in the AHL. Dump Strome and give the money to Dobby.

Harley almost made the roster out of camp this season. Many Stars writers believe that he’s nearly a lock for the roster out of camp next season.

That’s funny because I watched the Team Canada WJC tryout camp this fall and couldn’t help but notice that Harley was a step behind some of the other guys. Dale Hunter, Andre Tourigny, and Mitch Love must have agreed with me, since Harley didn’t make the team. If he can’t make that team, IMO there’s a fat chance he makes the Stars, who have plenty of depth on D

I like that Olesiak deal in a vacuum as a Blues fan but I don't see how the Blues budget it under the cap unless Pietrangelo walks

Slim to none as of now. The team is too good to start a retooling now and our best players are signed to contracts that'll run half the decade.

If the next year is a f*ck up, then If I were in charge I'd look to trade Klingberg and Radulov and strengthen our future as they've only two years left by that point, and our prospect pool is very thin...

But nothing big sort of a rebuilding is to be expected.

Cmon man, look at the defense on that roster. Bahl, Addison, Byram, Bernard-Docker, Drysdale, McIsaac, & Smith. It’s not like Harley lost out on a spot to some average Joe the pulled off the street. And last time I checked, he wouldn’t be joining Team Canada, he’d be joining the Dallas Stars. Completely different coaching staff & a completely different group of defensemen he’d be competing with.

You’re saying that because he lost out on a roster spot to the guys listed above that means he’s automatically worse than the defensemen he’d be competing with in Dallas? I follow the Stars religiously. They do not have a Byram, or a Bahl, or a McIsaac in their system that he’d be competing with. Harley’s competition for a roster spot is going to be against Gavin Bayreuther & Dillon Heatherington, both fine players in their own right, but I (and just about everyone who covers the Stars) take Harley 10 times out of 10, assuming he has the same kind of training camp he did last year.

Believe what you want, but the Dallas Stars are not Team Canada. He’ll be on the roster for the 2020-2021 season
