If im Bergevin, id rather pay the 1st, 2nd and 3rd to offer sheet Sergachev for more than what you say he signs for with Tampa.

I would imagine Sergachev would sign for around 4.75M in tampa because of no state tax. Elsewhere, 5.5M+
With the extra 2.5M in cap, Tampa will surely match anything MTL could offer...

Habs would be able to offer between 6.3 to 8.3 million for him. Anything over 7 could not be matched unless they trade some other players, and most of their core has ntc

4,750,000+2,500,000=7,250,000...........

I doubt Montreal offers more than that.

He's not worth that much. His skating is the most beautiful thing you've ever seen and he's got a nasty snap shot but he's still not at that elite D level yet

Tampa doesn't have that much! Next years cap hit is 76.1 Mil out of 81.5 Mil that leaves 4.4 Mil add to that 10% overage for the off season and your at 12.55 max. Now you resigned Cirelli and Cernak at 7.5 combined which I think is on the low end for Cernak but we will use your numbers. Your down to 5.5 Mil and we haven't even discussed the other signings you have listed. Then you have to have other teams like Jersey and Florida be willing to help you out of your mess out of the kindness of their heart all within a week! I don't think so! Let's not forget that Johnson and Course both have 5+ years at 5+ Mil and your proposing no retention. That will cost more than a 1st for Gourde likely a 2 1sts and at least a 2nd for Johnson cause your trading him within the division from a position of desperation. If an OS comes in on the 1st day of FA I think Tampa matches but IF it comes in after Cernak and Cirelli extend then Tampa is screwed!

I'm not reading all of that. I just explained the same thing to the other guy. In this concept above, Tampa does have the cap space to match Serg. If not they'll trade Palat who won't be hard to trade.

Sure sure and the Leafs will win the next 5 cups! Dreamland much?! Your going to have to give up either Kucherov or Point to avoid an OS which makes no sense! None of Gourde, Johnson, Killorn or Palat are waiving their NTC to go to NJ or any other rebuilding team. For Florida to help out their divisional rival would cost more than Johnson for a 4th as well. Likely Johnson + 1st for a 7th just because Florida is such a close rival. Also Florida couldn't add Johnson without making significant trades as well because they are in a similar situation to Tampa. Also Montreal won't be taking McDonagh without a sweetener as well and it certainly won't be for 2 2nds. The whole league knows both St Louis and Tampa are in cap hell so the sharks are circling so to speak.

If Bolts dont win it this yr, they are still good for yrs to come but to avoid an OS do they accept a deal similar to an OS on Serg?
If Devs pick from AZ is 10 OA this year, a 2nd next year from Isles we own and a roster player/prospect with more value than a third be a better haul than a Mont OS?
I know they dont want to move him but some decent sized contracts are going to have to be moved.

Are you okay in the head?

I have consistantly stated I believe the Leafs wont win a cup for the next 10-20 years.

Johnson is still a good player, won't cost a 1st to move. If you think that then you really are a moron.
