Description

What do you think OTT fans? This gives you a young star winger and potential future starting goalie, plus you still get to draft one of Byfield or Stutzle. I tried this with DET for the 4th OA and pretty much all the Wings fans that replied shut it down. But OTT is in a different position with 3 1st rounders.

As the title implies, this could only work from the Canucks' perspective if both Markstrom and Toffoli are re-signed at decent cap hits.

Why VAN would make the deal? TBH they probably wouldn't. I'm just looking at a scenario that uses the value of both players to get a high pick if the Canucks can otherwise patch the roster together. OTT seems like a good partner as I think they'd value both guys.

I like Boeser, but if I'm Ottawa, I'm betting on a guy like Rossi/Raymond/Drysdale being more valuable players in the long run. I think the Sens have the assets to put a fair offer for Boeser without having to give up that pick, which should be completely off the table in any trade.

Boeser is a definitely worth the 5 OA pick IMO. The guy is legit awesome and should be riding shotgun with Petterson for the next decade (I now he currently plays with Horvat). If you trade him away you cross your fingers that the 5th overall is as good as he is. Plus Demko is still young and developing.

That makes sense cause the Sens are 3 years away and need to develop young guys. Boeser is a top line RW on a good team in Vancouver and fits their timeline more than the 5th overall would. He's a known commodity. I think it's a bad deal for both teams

You are right that he is a great player but he is ready to win now and for the next 5-7 years where ottawa probably isnt looknig to make playoff push for 3 to 4 years and then stanley cup push a few years after that. I think that the 5OA is a better chance at contributing to our team during a cup push then Boeser at that age

depends on the needs. But this is a 5th overall in a very deep draft. the max id give up is Formenton, Thomson and the 5th for Matthew but i actually dont know if i want to even do that. It feels like a lot

I think Laine might be a more realistic move and cost less. Has one year left on deal then RFA and has show at times what a goal scorer he can be which Ottawa needs. Package NYI1st and second with Lassi and another piece and might have the frameowrk for a deal
