I think they can sign all of their players and not really have to make as big a trade as some may think. Just do what Toronto did this past year, acquire a player that will be on LTIR for the whole year ie: Kesler (ana), Zetts(det) in exchange for one of the "bad" contracts.

They’re gonna have to move out 3/4 of Palat/Johnson/Gourde/Killorn

    That’s a pretty big offseason

Why do you think he’ll be cheaper? Next year he’d have 3 years of experience posting .5+ points per a game in the NHL similar to Sergachev but on a dumpster fire of a team. They are honestly pretty comparable for comps and I’m extremely interested to see what Sergachev gets. If anything whoever (Sergachev/Hronek) will probably take a discount to play in a no state income competitive market like TB not Detroit if they’re interesting in winning/cups.

Sergy’s underlying numbers are a lot strong than Hronek’s. I get Hronek is on an awful team, but a D like Nick Jensen last year posted strong Metrics on a weak Detroit team. I think Sergy/ Hronek are comparable but Sergy is better, which is why Detroit adds the pick

Keslers coming back, Detroit won't move zetterberg, and in general there aren't many ltir contacts left. Clarkson's contract was one of the few remaining ones and teams who have ltir contacts are using them.

This guy's team is hilarious. He writes "anywhere for anything." Like hey man..... yeah that's the exact problem lol. Oh wait, is that what Tampa should try and do? Novel idea LOL.

I should just make a team for the Sabres and write "get a 2C and 2RW and starting goalie." Bam, look at that. Just solved all our problems lol.

What metrics specifically? I don’t follow analytics in hockey too in depth. I see one starts in the o-zone a bit more (~10%) than the other which should increase their corsi and fenwick. I also see they both have positive relative corsi and fenwick. I also take stats with a grain of salt without context. I’ve seen individuals throw up war/hero charts showing Brendan Smith to be better than Drew Doughty years ago.

Get off my page then if you have nothing constructive to say. I was trying to illustrate Tampa’s cap situation. Not trying to reflect trade values. If you could read the title maybe you’d understand.

I agree to take things with a grain of salt. I just use this chart to give me a better idea. I don’t watch either of them play much so it gives me a good idea. Obviously, Hronek is overplayed as he is their #1D and is on an awful team. If he played for Tampa his analytics SHOULD be better.

Do you think DET would take all three in a package? Yzerman did give each of those guys their current contract AND each of those guys have seen their ice time diminish under BriseBois Maybe go to them in a package approach and ask them to go together to DET?

I doubt all 3 and also they have to waive their NTC. They’d go from a contender in Tampa to a bottom team in Detroit. If I was an NHL player, I would’ve waive for that and I live right near Detroit lol
