People sometimes forget this lmao. Its a VERY polar series dependant on a lot of different factors. I wouldnt be quick to write either team off at all. If we take penalties, its game over for us. If their goaltending is ****e, its game over for them. Neither of our defenses are very good, but Id give the slight edge to Klefbom and Nurse. Two all or nothing offenses, probably the "best" matchup of the play-in round

Also, if Kubalik would be willing to sign that contract, I would be all for it. I just think coming off a 30 goal season as a rookie, he probably takes a bridge deal to see how much more he can improve his future contract. That 8 years would take him right to age 32, likely out of the running for another big contract whereas if he takes a 2 or 3 years, hes 26 or 27 so he can sign an 8 year then and potentially get a lot more money. Everything else is pretty solid. Crow might get a little more, Caggs might get a little more, but both of them have injury histories so who knows how long they last

Three teams that have the best chances of winning the lottery are the Oilers, Blackhawks, and Rangers. Hawks and Rangers are original six teams with big markets. The same thing could be said for the Maple Leafs but they have a lot of big contracts and if I am not mistaken their problem is more with coaching then the players. Rangers and Hawks have a good amount of problems but both could use a number one pick. As for Edmonton, they have some serious good luck with the draft lottery.
