It still baffles me that Anaheim arent doing everything they can to dump Lindholm, Manson, Rakell and Getzlaf.

my bad. they should really hold onto them because they might finish last without them. theyre actively tanking and wont be competitive for at least two seasons so none of those guys are of any use to them but thats a pretty tough concept to understand

Yeah, this isn't NHL 20. We're not tanking. We're actively trying to get better. If we were tanking, we'd have let RC keep his job.

What you don't understand is that tanking doesn't guarantee success anymore. You literally just watched DET go from #1OA to #4OA. Not to mention, your precious leafs tanked for multiple seasons, drafted Matthews, Marner and Nylander and still suck. I thought tanking was the way to go!!! You guys should just trade all those guys and start again.

It's clear you dont know how odds work. The way you are getting better is by tanking. Lmfao since when did the leafs suck. Top 5 team since babcock got fired is bad? I cant wait to watch the ducks tank for the next few seasons and end up letting their big guys walk for nothing

I said "tanking doesn't guarantee success"... and your response is "you don't know how odds work". Okay, please explain to me how "odds" will "guarantee us success"? I mean, you clearly know so much more about this than I do.

You get better by tanking? LMFAO!! The whole premise in tanking is that you get worse. Trading Rakell and Lindholm wouldn't make us better. You're clueless kid. Go back to NHL 20.

Top 5 team? 8th in the East, 12th in the league, and 5-4-1 coming into the lockdown. Definitely not a top 5 team... not even close. TOR has been knocked out the playoffs 3 years running. Haven't won anything. Yeah, your team is crushing it. You must be so happy they traded everyone and tanked for so many years. Must be a real joy *shake my head*.

Lindholm is 26/27
Manson is their best RHD
Rickell I guess can be moved
Getzlaf is on an NMC, Idk any team that would want him anyway that would have the space to eat 8.5m

All have 2 years left except Getzlaf who is expiring and Anaheim could retain up to 50%. Every team in the league would want Getzlaf at 4.125. Hes still a very good 2c with playoff experience- teams love that kind of thing. Manson will be 31 when his contract is up and te ducks wont be competitive for at least two years so hes no help to him until then but his next contract wont be good and giving a 2nd pair RD big money and term at his age is a bad idea.

Lindholm will be 28 and need a new contract. The ducks dont need him so they might as well trade him for a piece that will help them when they are competitive again

Sure Detroit didnt win the lottery but the majority of the time the last place team does end up winning it. If you are trying to win the lottery and pick 1st overall would you take a 12.5% chance of winning it or something like 18% chance of winning it. The lower you finish in the standings means you have a higher chance of winning it. That's how odds work bud.

I dont think you understand how age curves work or how rebuilding works either kiddo.

Good reading. I clearly said top 5 since Babcock got fired even though the leafs had a ton of injuries and Andersen was awful. They were two goals away from beating Washington and took boston to game 7 twice lol

18% chance = guaranteed success? GOT IT! awesome face

Believing you're going to win the cup with a bunch of kids is moronic. Who was the last team to win the cup with everyone under the age of 25? The notion that the recipe to quickly turnaround a rebuild is to ship out anyone over the age of 25 for picks and prospects is just stupid. Aside from the fact you are not guaranteed 1st OA, or even a top 3 pick, even if you do tank, all prospects come with risk and could not pan out as expected. Like seriously, who do we have to replace Lindholm? I mean, you clearly know my team better than I do. So who in our prospect pool can replace Lindholm as a top line D? Or who can we draft that will replace him that isn't at least 4-5 years away from doing so.

Also, you do realise that having a team that constantly sucks for years isn't good for prospect development or their compete level? and that you can't teach experience and need veterans in your line-up to guide young prospects through the new challenges. Nah.... of course you don't. You're a TOR fan. Just rip it all down and start again. Getting knocked out of the 1st round every year to a team that didn't just blow it up and kept the likes of Marchand, Bergeron, Krejci, etc. during their struggling years is good enough for you, eh?

Wow... congrats on winning the "we almost made out of the 1st round" cup! You must be really proud of your team. GTFO!!
