Agree to disagree. They get a #1, a solid LHD that's NHL ready, and a middle 6 winger thats played for team USA and has playoff experience. Could maybe add a 1st rounder if need be.

They have to many Goalies first off and 2 of the top 8 goalie prospects so they don't need a goalie. They are getting an overpaid 3rd line forward. they have a ton of forward depth again not needed. And a young dmen that might be top 4 or might be bottom pair. For a good pking bottom 6 cheap forward and a dmen that has proven can handle top pair mins... yup seems fair.

Very narrow-minded and simplistic way of looking at it, sure. But again, agree to disagree.

You trade for need you draft for talent. You arent addressing any of the jets needs in that trade.

well the time travelling scenario was entertaining. But I would have to agree that the deal won't get Trouba, but possibly Myers. I would keep Mrazek, as Andersen is clearly not happening, and add Nyquist to that deal.

Well none of this is happening haha, we know that. Add Nyquist to the deal for Trouba and substitute Myers? That seems like an overpayment.

This first phrase sums it up. Good ufa signings, about ten years ago. Holy smokes, almost 4mil for 2 ex nhlers.

The same reason the Jets didn't want to sign Ladd is the reason they (or most teams) wouldn't want Abdelkaker. 29 years old, 4,25m for the next 7 years.
redw1n9s. You should have been GM before Holland fell in love with his own players and signed those contracts that in many cases don't look good now and will look worse in the future.

The Abdelkaker is a deal breaker. That contract gets worse every year. The nhl gets faster and a big player that doesn't play fast and is aging wont have a job for long.

If you guys want to see me go off lets start a Doughty Karlsson debate. Although I do have both in the top 3 in the NHL I just think Karlsson is far and ahead of all other Dmen.

Redw1n9s Look to the past for league valuation.
1.What was the return on the Seth Jones trade??? Seth Jones is a young Dman with potential as a top2. Answer A top Centerman.
      2. What was the return of a Top line winger (Taylor Hall). A top4 defenceman.
The only players of that caliber from Det. Is Larkin (potential top C) or Mantha plus as Mantha is a Winger and not proven. Live with what ya got. Because the current price has been set league wide. And the price is too high.

When making a trade look for the need of the other team as well as your own.
What you are offering is a 1b goaltender, a depth winger, and a potential Dman with a ceiling of top4. Wpg has lots of those types of players.

I'd be very happy if my teams depth winger scored 20 goals a year. As for Mrazek, he will always be underrated.

They are top 3 you win by scoring goals no dmen has more of an impact on goal scoring than karlsson and it's by a lot.
