RONDE 1ÉQUIPEORIGINALJOUEURDéTAILS
Logo de Ducks d'Anaheim-Easily the consensus first pick in the draft. Anaheim gets themselves an incredible prospect to build their offense around.
Logo de Red Wings de Detroit-Byfield is the best centre in the entire draft. Along with his 6’4 frame, he gives Detroit a terrific compliment for Dylan Larkin to form a 1-2 punch down the middle for years to come.
Logo de Canadiens de Montréal-Stutzle finally gives the Habs a much needed difference maker. He has the potential to be a superstar in this league, and instantly becomes the Canadiens best home grown forward prospect in decades.
Logo de Sénateurs d'Ottawa-Although centre is an area to address, Ottawa addresses another need by drafting a goal scoring winger. Raymond provides the Senators with a scoring element that can give this team a consistent 30 goal scorer.
Logo de Sénateurs d'OttawaLogo de Sharks de San JoseTalk about the perfect replacement for Erik Karlsson eh? Arguably the best defenceman in the draft, Drysdale will have Sens fans cheering for years when he pairs up with Thomas Chabot for the next decade.
Logo de Kings de Los Angeles-One of my favourite players in the draft, Perfetti gives LA another talented winger who can form an incredible partnership with Turcotte.
Logo de Devils du New Jersey-Although his size will drop his stock a little bit, Rossi is one of the most talented players in this draft. For a team like New Jersey who are looking for skill and scoring, Rossi provides that and more.
Logo de Sabres de Buffalo-Arguably one of the biggest risers in the draft, Sanderson gives Buffalo a top 4 D-man who can skate well and be a perfect compliment to play behind Rasmus Dahlin.
Logo de Blackhawks de Chicago-With Corey Crawford getting older and a soon to be UFA, Chicago drafts their goalie of the future. Compared to Carey Price, Askarov is one of the best goalie prospects in years. Although there is the KHL factor, the Blackhawks shouldn’t hesitate to take him this high.
Logo de Devils du New JerseyLogo de Coyotes de l'ArizonaHoltz, like Rossi, helps the Devils stockpile talented and skilled forwards to a team that already has Jack Hughes and Nico Hischier. Holtz provides the team with another forward who can be a difference maker for New Jersey in a few years. This would be a great haul for the team if they land these two players.
Logo de Wild du Minnesota-Easily the perfect replacement for Mikko Koivu. Lundell is one of the best two-way forwards in this draft.
Logo de Canucks de Vancouver-Quinn can score. One of the better shooters in the draft, Quinn goes to the Canucks who already have the likes of Boeser, Pettersson, Miller and Horvat. Adding an additional goal scorer like Quinn instantly gives Vancouver much needed scoring depth for years to come.
Logo de Predators de Nashville-Gunler gives Nashville much needed help on the wing. Along with his shot, he can be an impactful top 9 forward in a few years with the Preds.
Logo de Panthers de la Floride-Holloway was one of the better freshmen in the NCAA last season. Can instantly replace Vincent Trochek, who was traded at the trade deadline.
Logo de Flames de Calgary-Mercer has a ton of talent, yet it doesn’t show as much through his statistics in the QMJHL. Although it’s a risk, Calgary has taken chances on high-risk players in the 1st round in the past (Mark Jankowski).
Logo de Rangers de New York-One of the biggest wildcards in the draft, Lapierre is easily a top 10 pick had it not been for his injuries. The talent is there, with some scouts comparing him to Patrice Bergeron. It is one of those picks where the Rangers can hit a grand slam is Lapierre proves to stay healthy. High-risk, high-reward.
Logo de Jets de Winnipeg-For a team who lacks talent on D, Barron is a perfect puck carrying defenceman for this team.
Logo de Sénateurs d'OttawaLogo de Islanders de New YorkJarvis plays a gritty style of hockey, along with a great knack for contributing offensively. I think it won’t translate significantly in the NHL, but he’ll be a great top 9 forward for Ottawa.
Logo de Blue Jackets de Columbus-Zary is arguably the best player available for Columbus at this position. Exploded this past season offensively, Zary provides the Blue Jackets with a talented forward to help out Dubois.
Logo de Hurricanes de la CarolineLogo de Maple Leafs de TorontoCarolina continues to add talented European prospects through the draft. Although I don’t believe he’ll dominate offensively in the NHL, he is one of the smartest players in this draft.
Logo de Rangers de New YorkLogo de Hurricanes de la CarolineBourque was one of the best players in the QMJHL last season. Easily gives the Rangers another talented forward to develop through their system.
Logo de Stars de Dallas-Despite having Heiskanen and Klingberg, along with drafting Harley last season, the Stars lack another talented Defenceman in their system. Schneider gives them a top 4 D-man on the right side who can give the team a solid top 4 for years to come.
Logo de Oilers d'Edmonton-Monstrous D-man for a team that needs help defensively. Pretty self explanatory.
Logo de Golden Knights de Vegas-Although the stats say otherwise, Amirov has a ton of talent. Provides Vegas with another skilled forward who can score.
Logo de Wild du MinnesotaLogo de Penguins de PittsburghPoirier reminds me of Samuel Girard. He gives Minnesota another solid Defenceman that can contribute on the offensive side of the game.
Logo de Flyers de Philadelphie-Brisson, the son of mega-agent Pat Brisson, had a terrific season in the USHL. Committed to Michigan next season, he gives the Flyers another talented forward within their system.
Logo de Capitals de Washington-Another talented and skilled forward for Washington to take late in the first from the OHL.
Logo de Sharks de San JoseLogo de Lightning de Tampa BayBordeleau, although undersized, has one of the better shots in this draft according to scouts. Committed to Michigan along with Brisson next season, Bordeleau has the chance to develop into an intriguing prospect for the Sharks.
Logo de Avalanche du Colorado-Sourdif plays a strong 200 foot game and is seen as one of better two-way forwards in the draft. Although he will now ‘wow’ anyone with his scoring, Sourdif will be a fan favourite due to his relentlessness. Reminds me of Andrew Shaw.
Logo de Blues de St-Louis-A huge guy at 6’3”, Guhle is an ideal fit for what the Blues look for when it comes to defencemen.
Logo de Ducks d'AnaheimLogo de Bruins de BostonAlthough small, he is one of the fastest skaters in the draft. Love his name, can potentially make it to the NHL due to his quickness and two-way instincts.

I honestly think DET would take Stutzle over Byfield in this scenario. Not because of the GER connexion but simply because Stutzle is the best player after Laf. As a MTL fan though, Id be thrilled to get him at 3.

Ottawa already replaced Karlsson with Chabot. They have lots of defensive depth too. If they miss out on Byfield they will certainly take Rossi, I would expect them to take Raymond as well there.

No chance Buffalo touches Sanderson, Sabres are in hot water to be competitive now and Sanderson is committed to NCAA for the next couple years.

Holloway is not an instant replacement for Trocheck, he is at least 2-3 years out from 2nd line center caliber. If Florida is looking for a replacement for him they will go with one of their current prospects, the trade board or free agency. I would highly expect Florida to look at wingers for replacing Hoffman/Dadnov or defense for Stalman/Yandle

Solid mock draft! I would say Red Wings pick Stutzle just because I think he is the 2nd best player in the draft and pretty close to laf. I also think the Sens would go raymond and rossi, as they have solid defensive depth. Well done though!

Hawks draft Lundell and maybe Holtz ahead of Askarov. Hawks have been burned by the KHL for one and two, they are looking to compete now with Kane, Keith and Toews on the roster....not looking 4 years ahead when 17 year old Askarov will be ready to make his NHL debut.
