Konecny was a ppg player last year, lets not pretend that he will never touch that. Full season he would been an 80 point player, at his age, and coming into a steal of a deal contract long term with that production....come on think objectively

You wont win with Gaudreau, there is a reason why flame fans even want him out of town, he pouts, disappears, doesnt battle and compete when the game ramps up, doesnt play Defence. The playoffs last year was a prime example of it, anytime he got touched he would try to play it up the refs that he got slashed etc and would take himself out of the play.

I would do Konecny straight up for Gaudreau

I doubt the Flyers do it, but if Flyer ownership wants Fletcher to be aggressive that could do it.

Sure Konecny had 3 more points than Gaudreau, but he also played on a Flyer team that scored 22 more goals than the Flames in 1 fewer game

Flyers would be incredibly stupid not to do Konecny for Gaudreau and CGY would be stupid to even offer. Gaudreau is much better than Konecny and Konecy is real good.

Gaudreau PPG: 0.96
Konecny PPG: 0.62

If you want to break it down more Guadreau's first 4 years PPG (like Konecny) is 0.92

Gaudreau is far and away a better play. Konecny is real good to, I like him a lot, but Gaudreau is on another level.

There is a BIG difference between Frost and Konecny

you really have a hard time of grasping the value of Age and contract as valuable assets....one is 23 signed for 5 more years at 5.5m. Gaudreau 27 2years left at 6.7m. Aging curves are a real thing as well

and if you watched Gaudreau and his issues..you wouldnt want to trade away young assets for 2 years of a guy who refuses to compete especially in the playoffs.
Him having 1 90 point season with a career high, with every other flame player having career high with high PDOs and eveything going right for them (look it up)...thats why they were so easy to be bounced in the 1st round despite winning the west....big part of that was how Johnny refused to engage in playoff hockey
