Its not a rumor, its just an idea someone had on here and everyones clung to. The sharks have zero indication of wanting to trade Hertl and to the contrary the GM has said over and over the sharks will compete next year.

I understand your an LA fan but Doug Wilson is not stupid or some kind of media glammer. He does what he knows needs to be done and is always professional about it, if he tells an interviewer hes looking to acquire forwards for draft picks, I seriously doubt hes also telling other GMs hes tanking next year and everyones open season.

I really dont buy it. The sharks GM keeps saying the sharks will compete, so how would trading our best forward help it? Im not trying to say your reporter is full of it, but I think Botts is mislead if he thinks hes getting Hertl for anything less than the bank being blown open. There is absolutely no way Hertl moves without atleast one of Cozens or the 2020 first moving, and even then its going to take more.

Yea, the 2020 1st is included here and there is more in the trade (mittelstadt)

Look the trade on paper is fair a former high draft pick and a top ten 1st for a #2 C who Is 26 and has 1 season with more than 65 points. Hell on paper it might be overpay.
Now reality middlestat looks like a bust plain and simple
Hertl value is not just points he’s a great defensive center and a huge fan favorite and locker room guy plus we are Lacking at center depth and top 6 Scoring so your taking our strongest player from our weakest area. Loosing him will piss off the fan base and cause contention in the locker room so anything short of a massive overpay will be ignored.
