Ducks need a RHD. Risto is very overvalued and Bob Murray took on Gudbranson from pit so I could see him being interested in Risto

an opportunity to play with Eichal could be enticing but you're right... he may not want to leave his life behind in sunny Anaheim for buffalo.

I like this idea if the trade clauses don't interfere. I'd add a pick going to the ducks though, or a meh prospect

Think Henrique works better than Silfverberg for Risto trade as Ducks have a surplus of centers while BUF actually needs one.

Why would Buffalo want to give up the 7th OA, which could be Rossi, Drysdale, Raymond, or Lundell... for Hertl who enters his UFA season in 21-22? VERY shortsighted for a team that will NOT even win their division.

As @TCMonkey points out above and @Shibbal18 has previously, two years of Hertl isn't worth the 7th overall pick. I think Hertl gets the Sharks from 29th to 7th, not 7th alone.

Sabres would have to add for Henrique though

At the end of the day, this team has to start winning games and start putting together a competitive roster. If sabres miss the playoffs AGAIN in the 2020/21 season, I believe Eichal will (and should) ask for a trade. If sabres acquire hertl whose to say they don’t resign him? If sabres are competitive I think he stays

I personally wouldn't trade the 7th OA pick in one of the deepest drafts in years for a guy who MIGHT agree to stay. But I suppose the worst case if you're forced to move him at the 2022 trade deadline after and get a late first (and maybe a prospect) in return.
Now for Timo Meir I would HAPPILY give the 7th OA + Ryan Johnson and the 2021 2nd round pick.

I think its in buffalos best interests to use that pick to improve their team. a disgruntled eichal will lead to the collapse of the team. if eichal asks for a trade no way you get fair value

Then use it (and other assets) to go after Mieir who's rights you would own for a long time OR someone from Tampa Bay who has no choice but to move a key player OR Toffoli who would only cost you money. Giving a 7 OA in this years draft for a player who could literally decide to go the FA agency after 130 games is foolish as hell.
