I wouldn’t. Nuttivaara was our best rated defenseman last year (analytically anyways) and IMO Strome is overrated. He really only had a 2nd line center with Panarin. Honestly I have a gut feeling of Panarin and Wennberg being the same thing. One great year, on a contract year, and getting paid because of it. Small coincidence that Strome and Wennberg has 59 points in their career years with a star wing.... Saad was better in Columbus then a lot of people give him credit for.

Saad, and yes Panarin is much better then Saad, but Wennberg has his big career year with Saad and Sam Gagner were his wings. Atkinson and Folingo were with Dubinsky on the 2nd line. The 3rd line was Hartnell, Anderson and Karlsson, the 4th line was Anderson with Calvert and Jenner.

That being said I’d be very cautious of overpaying for Strome and giving him more then 4 mil is probably a mistake.

You have anderson twice, you mean bjorkstrand in one of them?

No.. Bjorkstrand was only up for injuries that year. It was Sedlak or Lori Korpikoski on the 4th line. Bjorkstrand bounded between AHL and NHL that year.

The Jackets will most likely give Foudy some playing time during the playoffs, just like they did Texier & Gavrikov last year, to audition him to see where he is at developmentally.
It will give them an idea if he is ready for regular minutes in the NHL (albeit most likely on the wing instead of at center).
This will help guide them going into 2020-21 season regarding what to do with Wennberg.
If Foudy is NHL ready, they will probably keep Wennberg for another year, play Wennberg & Jenner at center with Foudy on the wing, and hope to entice a TDL trade or Seattle to take him (Wennberg).
Otherwise, they also may try Grigorenko at 3C or 4C to see if he is capable.
All this will be gearing up for a couple years' time when Werenski & Jones & Bjorkstrand are due for their big contracts.
