The cost to move up from pick 13 to 9 is a mid 2nd....you're paying significantly more than that.

I could live with it if we gave it up from lundell. They guy is amazing and would be top 5 another draft year. Rangers have a very saturated D prospect pool

They most likely go with guys they've scouted heavily because they have teammates in the pool: Holloway, Gunler, (if we're lucky) Raymond.

Just last year AZ moved up (3) spots from #14 to #11 and needed to lose pick #45. A mid 2nd just like you suggest. Since this is moving up (4) slots and getting into the top 10...I'd think the value is that you would need to lose somewhere around pick ~#32ish +/-. That +/- is really just how much do you want that player @ pick #9.

This trade posted isn't really in the ballpark. The assets listed gets you to about 6 OA, which puts you in Rossi/Raymond territory. That's a tier up.

Well there's a couple things to this chart. It's pretty dated. So my example of last years AZ trade would suggest they overpaid, but also it isn't even included within the data set. I'd suggest this chart get updated to 2020. Nothing against it at all. I really do enjoy data analysis, but 2013 is missing A TON of data. Additionally, if there is a team out there that does data Analytics...it's AZ probably more so than any team out there! Which probably means once this data does get updated. You'll see the cost of moving up in the 1st will get even pricier than it was in 2013.

I'm just talking about draft picks like the article suggests. As for the trade itself, It all depends on how you value Robertson today. Right? He's not a number...he's a player that's either developing better, equal to, or worse than his draft position. The Blackahwks don't really have any interest in him. They already have too many Defensemen and 1st/2nd round D prospects looking for ice time. I'd argue the Blackhawks turn this down.
