I think this team is close to playoffs. You need a starting goaltender though. Maybe a deal for Murray or georgiev? Would be good 1a options. I would also try to move Montour for an lhd. Maybe to Toronto in a deal for dermott and a peice.

If I’m buffalo I’m at least considering using that first on askarov. You can use the 2nd to draft a future top 6 forward but they need a goalie

I believe Ullmark is a starter. I would want Montour on the ride side or even trade him for a forward.

This team is still missing experience. Like way too young and no one has any experience of a deep playoff run. Trade for a guy like Statsny or Eric Staal

I agree that Botts should be fired, no way this team makes playoffs in 20-21 season. Even doing this Armchair GM thing you need to make 3 or 4 big trades and sign 2 or 3 good free agents which in reality is just about impossible and win one of draft lottery slots. Unfortunate for Sabres fans.

Yeah I think montours time is up. Jokiharju plays a similar game and Miller is a fine stopgap until he is ready for a top 4 role. Moving him for a forward or a top 4 lhd is the best plan imo.

Bad decisions kind of pile up here. Bringing in a vet goalie on the cheap to split time with ullmark until upl is ready would be great, except hutton is still here, and i cant see anybody tripping over themselves to take him off of our hands. Its too much to expect cozens to come in and play center, especially with mittelstadt slated as the 3. Larsson will be playing 25 minutes a night, just to take the d zone face offs, thats not a job i trust a rookie or mittelstadt to do. So grabbing a vet center that knows where his zone is would make sense to me. Not sure i love the idea of montour and ristolainen both coming back- i dont love either in our own zone and its 10 million between them. Hopefully pilut or borgen kicks the door down and forces a move, but its not like they wont just keep 8 up here, they did it last year. Basically, nail down the center and keep an eye on the contracts you give out- i like reinhart a lot less if hes over 7, and i dont hate montour, but montour and ristolainen making 10 between is just too much.
