I would try and hold on to Kivlenieks. Chances are Columbus loses a goalie to Seattle and they don’t really have anyone ready behind Kivlenieks to fill the role

That’s a good point, and I didn’t take expansion draft implications into account when I did this, but I don’t think Elvis is eligible to be drafted by Seattle. So they can protect Korpisalo and still keep both.

Actually, based on the expansion eligibility rules, Elvis will not be eligible so he does not need to be protected and is not in jeopardy of being drafted. This comes right from the Seattle draft simulator in the interactive drop down... They defined professional seasons as NHL and/or AHL.

All players who have accrued two or less professional seasons at the end of the 2020-21 season, as well as all unsigned draft choices appearing on the teams reserve list, will be exempt from the upcoming expansion draft.

Under this scenerio, Kivlenieks would be unprotected, Korpi protected, and Elvis ineligible.

I think they trade Korpi.
No only do they have Kivlenieks but they have Tarasov who has some pedigree too.
This team has no problem playing younger players and seeing what they have. They like Korpi, but he's a backup and they know it. And they are paying way too much for that.

Certainly could see that. They have a nice tandem and at under $7m for both goalies is still a pretty nice deal. They’re a good team, better than I expected when I started putting this together. I think Bjorstrand can be a lethal goal scorer if he can stay healthy.

Does my Dubois contract seem about right?

Honestly I think 8 is high. I don't know he had one really good year and then some ok years. He's a good player but needs to put it all together. I see him in the 6 mil range.

IMO this is solid. Lines are a bit wacky but that’s to be expected.

Not sure Columbus makes the 1st trade as we really have no use for more wings. Robinson is as good for the 4th line as Bennett would be.

I doubt San Jose makes the 2nd trade. They need younger forwards. Also we have to keep Kevliniks as of now he and Korpisalo are the only 2 goalies we have that meet the standards for exposer for a goalie.

I’m thinking he’s either getting something similar to Aho on shorter term. If they want to buy up some UFA years it usually costs more

yeah I don't think that's a good comparison. He had 30 goals and 84 points the year before. PLD high is 27 and 61.

I think in general his numbers put him in the 6 million range even getting those UFA years. It doesn't help his numbers regressed this year.
I think looking at the list of guys making 8 it doesn't add up.
