Lafreniere and Byfield both ending up in the Atlantic, but not in Ottawa would be incredibly disappointing
If Bob McKenzie is correct and the NHLPA and Bettman agree to revert back to the pre-draft lottery days then it would be down to 4 teams Detroit #31 Ottawa #30 and #29 LA #28 and Anaheim #27 for Alexis Lafreniere Detroit would've a 48.1% odds of getting Lafreniere and Ottaw with their 2 picks have a #33% chance at Lafreniere Anaheims chances actually decreased by 4% so the odds wouuld heavily favor Detroit in this scenario either way #1 or #2 overall would be sweet by me. Lafreniere, Byfield/Stuzle/Rossi all of those guys could be heading to the Atlantic as early as early june if they get their way.

He spoke without thinking it through. Their are conditional picks based on making or missing the playoffs and others based on playoff performance. YOU HAVE TO FINNISH THE SEASON AND PLAYOFFS TO HAVE A DRAFT

You're totally correct here, There no way they can have a June draft with those conditional picks involved. If they can get back to play in sometime late June regular season then playoffs early July they should still be able to get the Stanley cup finals no later then Mid September and do the draft shortly after. Probably just want to give the non-playoff teams something to cheer about after their abysmal year especially with Detroit.
