Why do you have Koekkoek playing over Keith, and Carlsson? 4K is the 7th Dman

Also Mitchell isnt playing bottom 6 mins Dpairs would be

Keith-Boqvist (high offensive starts)
Carlsson/Beaudin-Mitchell
DeHaan-Murphy (High defensive starts)

Koekkoek was easily the second best defenseman last season behind Murphy. Keith is awful.

We clearly didn't watch the same team if you thought Koekkoek was the 2nd best defenseman. He played well for a few weeks but was otherwise nonexistent.

Out of all Hawks defensemen for this season, Koekkoek was:
3rd in xGAA
1st in xGPM
1st in CF%
1st in xGF%
And was by far the best corsi driver on the team

But I guess our entire defense was "nonexistent".

Koekkoek played well in a 3rd pair/limited role, I'm not arguing against that. Every time he was moved up the lineup he literally became invisible aside from a noticeable ****-up now and again. I'm saying that he was NOT the "2nd best" defenseman on the team (which he wasn't regardless what advanced stat you try to use), not that he was terrible.

Most of our defensemen suck and are 7th Ds. Koekkoek, however, does not.

Keith and Seabrook = Bottom 20ish defensemen in the NHL
Carlsson and Boqvist = Good, but young. Boqvist is still a mess defensively
Maatta = Average middle-pairing defenseman
CDH = Good when healthy, but isn't healthy often
Koekkoek = Statistically our second best defenseman
Murphy = Our best defenseman
