I wouldn't get Kerfoot imo, but if you can shorten the return from the Pens to get Kappy, I'm so down

I'm not really a huge fan of Kerfoot, just couldn't call this giving the leafs major cap relief with just one $3M player taken. But if Kapanen is available and they don't ask for Marino, I'm game.

I have been trading for Kappy for a while now so I love that, but not crazy about Kerfoot.

Not sure about Roy tho, thats a good question .... He is a sneaky good player but is he playing a lot bc of on a bad team? IMO, he is a really good 3rd pairing guy rite now.

Roy's metrics look surprisingly good for playing on LA.

I love the bringing back of Kapanen... but would be disappointed to see Simon leave. Again with a guy like Matt Roy thats just to much to pay. You had Joakim Ryan before in a thread (if that was you, don't really remember) and he wasn't a good fit either.

I recommend the Penguins adding a guy like Nathan Beaulieu - Fast on his feet and more of a depth guy. OR even a Chris Tanev if they can afford him on a short term contract.

Check out this thread I made a few weeks ago now!

No not me on Ryan, I'll check out Beaulieu. Wasn't sure what the price for Roy would be...I'm not a Simon hater at all, I recognize his value but I do see him as expendable if we can get an upgrade at least in putting the puck in the net that would be nice. For me Simon can play on the 3rd line and help that out for sure, but I don't really like giving him top-6 ice time.

B.

I realize that as a Leafs fan you accept not winning, but at some point you need to admit your delusions.

Never seen crazy baseball analogies like this, crazy leafs fans?......they're everywhere.....lol.
They haven't won the Cup since there were 6 teams in the league, and coincidentally, that fall, the Penguins entered the league. It's been a long time.
Nice work.

Yeah, I don't know why I started running with the baseball analogy as i do not like baseball. I guess the pure lack of originality in his comebacks seemed to fit baseball so I kept it going. I even set him up to give me a good shot with the "B" thing, but nope, much like the Leafs... disappointment.

I wouldn’t trade Marino even if the Leafs offered Marner.

you're right there. I totally agree. cap aside, marino is arguably more important to this team then a potential Marner/hall type on Sid's right wing.

Marino is much more important no doubt because he’s going to play more minutes as Letang gets older & is the team’s future #1 RHD. Hall is an elite offensive talent but he’s very poor defensively (at least according to his stats). Just a better version of Phil Kessel. I think hypothetically Marner would make a pretty good winger for Sid cuz he’s good in possession, above average defensively & can cycle the puck in the offensive zone. We won’t get him, obviously.
