I'd love to hear all of your reasons why you think that? I understand you are a sharks fan, but I am giving you the benefit of the doubt.

I just dont think the top guys are good enough, look at teams like NJ. Thinking that young guys will carry you in their second year never works out. Youve got Dustin Brown and Yanni Gourde in your top six man

Dustin Brown had a 60 point season and a 50 point season before this season. If he didn't get injured he would gave gotten 50 points again.

Gourde had a what, 60 something point season before this season?

Kings are 8-1-1 with Vilardi the whole team fed of of him. He brought new energy and I bet he'll get 60+ points next season. Turcotte will have a great rookie season.

Next season Kings will be below a wild car spot and they will make the playoffs the year after. Hold me to it

I have to agree with the shark.

Kopitar in two years will be a shell of what he is now - probably only a 50 point guy. Brown will decline even worse.

I think Gourde has bounce back value, but I wouldn't bank on him being more than a 50 point getter and more in the 40 range.

Ottawa and LA are on a similar pace with what they are doing, but OTT started one year earlier. Next year OTT is only breaking out of the bottom. I think that will be this year for LA - breaking away from the bottom. The back end is strong on this roster, but the prospects will all be new or < 1 season experience at this point.
They will put up a good fight, but I see this team kind of following the same path MTL did this year. Just on the fringe of the playoff race but a year out. LA's rebuild is 3 years to complete, not 2. This team won't see a playoff game until Vilardi's first full contract.

I could see the kings in the playoffs next year. Assuming Peterson and Quick play well, I think our D and system looked great the second half of the season, a few prospects take a step forward but I think Vilardi could be the key to this teams future. There is just something special about that kid. Pucks find him, he’s got amazing hands, can finish etc, if he can keep his back issues at bay, get in top shape, and just slightly improve his skating he could end up being our main guy. He basically didn’t play for 2 years and couldn’t train, comes back in what like November after training for a month, plays a handful of ahl games looks dominant then moves up to kings and shows quite a few flashes of brilliance. If he can do that off the couch Makes me wonder what he could be with a solid couple of years under his belt

Perfectly worded. This is what I mean by Kings having way too many centers and need to start drafting wingers and D more. Vilardi played center everywhere this season and with Turcotte and Vilardi most likely making a full time jump to the Kings next season possibly along with JAD. That's 5 centers that belong in the top 9(including Kopi) we also have Lizotte excluding them from the 4th line lol Theres talk about Vilardi playing RW, but I really can't imagine it. He's perfect for center.

@Kings989 I changed it for you. Also I think the Kings need to sign Kaliyev asap and get him in the AHL. He has out grown the OHL
